Description:

Crompton is a typical gnome in his general features. His most predominant feature is his large (or more accurately stated massive!) Red nose. This is of course a status symbol amongst the gnomes and thus he is very proud of it.

Crompton thinks of himself as a gallant, and dresses accordingly. Although he owns 'professional' attire for undercover missions, his normal costume is thigh length leather boots, breeches, baggy heavy cotton shirt and a wide brimmed hat topped with a large billowy feather.

History:

Crompton was the eldest son of 'Big Red' Harvey Jones and his wife Justine. Big Red is a mining supervisor, and thus classed as a noble in gnomish society. His name is derived from his huge proboscis, something Crompton inherited. Justine is a skilled illusionist.

Crompton grew up in Emerald Forest, the Gnomish gem mines situated east of Waterdeep. Because of the incredible value of these mines, there location is kept very secret and is known only to its inhabitants and a few others.

When Crompton was a mere whippersnapper, the mines were raided by an unknown thief. The community was worried that news of the mine had leaked out. The raider or raiders must be caught. To get to the point, Crompton solved the case and several Duergar were captured. He was rewarded with an honorary sheriff status which he took to heart.

Our newly badged detective then took it upon himself to solve every crime he could. Being a small closed community, this took about two weeks!
