Dragons, Undermountain and Myth Drannor

Akordia remained in Silverymoon for a couple of months, but her memory did not return. She was obviously traumatized, but after a while, insisted upon returning to the group in Stanzfeld Mansion. Due to the colour of her skin, however, it was considered important to find some way to disguise her. A rumour surfaced of a magical mask which changed the appearance of the wearer. It was apparently in the treasure trove of a Black Dragon in the Marsh of Chelimber.

A party set off, using the setting discovered for the nearby Greycloak Hills. Jason, Akordia, Sable, Morcleb and Bobat - the new Dwarf Priest of Tempus ended up helping the Black Dragon, Ralas, drive his nagging mate off by arranging to make it look as though his treasure had been washed away in a cave-in. Ralas was so grateful, he allowed them each to choose an item from his hoard. This was Morcleb's last outing with the group for two years while he returned to Shilmista. Thus Akordia was able to disguise her nature and move about in general public without causing problems at every turn.

Soon after, a group comprising Corrie, Dustar, Bobat and Marie, on a trip to Waterdeep were forced to descend into Undermountain to retrieve the Amulet which had been stolen. It was during this time when Corrie and Marie had one of their most serious disagreements when after they had been subjected to faerie fire from some Drow warriors, Marie cast a Dispel Magic to remove it at the wrong moment ,just after Corrie had drunk a potion and cast a haste spell. The faerie fire was dispelled, but so were the affects of the potion and haste, much to Corrie's disgust. Marie then compounded the mistake by refusing to admit to an error of judgement and to stand and argue in front of the enemy. The Amulet was recovered, but relations between the two women were at an all time low.

The most valuable thing they found, however, they failed to realize its value. Early on, they discovered a strange ring, which detected magical, but neither Corrie not Marie were prepared to risk trying it on. Dustar agreed to try it only under the condition that he could keep it after. They agreed. What they failed to realize was that this was one of the eight Horned Rings of Halaster. It was a valuable and powerful item, but Dustar, like the others, did not know how valuable until he went to get it valued. He was directed to Blackstaff Tower and managed to bargain with Khelben 'Blackstaff' Arunsun to exchange the ring for a Girdle of Stone Giant Strength.

A few months later, Jason discovered a setting which took him to a clearing not far north of Myth Drannor. He also met some very talkative wolves and a not particularly friendly Erinyes. He witnessed some of the horror of the Fiendish occupation of the ancient elven city, but returned to Fallow's Cross unscathed.

About a week later, Corrie received a visitor bearing a summons from her father in Shilmista. She travelled to Evereska on Griffin-back and from there via a rainbow bridge to Shilmista. There she discovered that she was in trouble with the Avariel Elves of the Greycloak Hills. She was forced to apologize for her part in the humiliation of the daughter of the leader of the Flying Elves. She also met a very charming Gold Elf called Lassarail Goldmane. He explained about an artefact called the Harp of the West, which would bolster the morale of the Elven peoples and slow the migration of the elves. He claimed that his information placed the Harp in the cellars of college of magic close to the Temple to Oghma. He arranged to show her from the air and teleported them both close to the city and flew them over to view the ruins from above. While there they were attacked by a Vrock and several Gargoyles, but saw the biggest Red Dragon they had ever heard off. Lassarail pointed out to Corrie roughly where the cellars should be, and then returned her to Shilmista, with a promise that he would be back in touch in about a month to travel with them into Myth Drannor.

Indeed he did turn up a few weeks later in the middle of summer. On his appearance at Fallow's Cross, Marie sprang to attack him, hurling curses and insults, while he was astonished at her reaction. The others were just as surprised at this, and it was with astonishment all round that it transpired that Lassarail was Marie's father who had 'deserted' her mother when Marie was a child. he had been forced to leave Calimport on an important mission and was not able to return for two years, by which time, all trace Marie's mother had vanished and Marie herself was surviving in the streets. he had believed them both dead. Because of this revelation, he bowed out of leading them into Myth Drannor, preferring to remain with his newly rediscovered daughter. The fact that Marie was a half-elf instead of human, was just as much as surprise to most people!

So, it was Corrie, Malleus, Dathrel, Kira - a female Elven Bladesinger and the fighter Tim who made the trip into Myth Drannor. There they discovered their magic behaving oddly and experienced the strange Mythal that surrounds Myth Drannor, and the unsettling consequences of the ripples. These caused the party no end of problems - Malleus in particular suffered greatly from their side effects. The party met a Cambion Tanar'ri fiend called Karanakurik, who vowed to kill them after they had 'murdered' his brother. The fight was close, but the Cambion withdrew at the last minute to fight another day. After many trials, they found the Harp and Corrie was disturbed to discover a throne made form a solid sapphire - disturbed, because she could not work out a way to steal it!
