In his time in New Haven, he has been one of the voices of wisdom in the village, and is considered to be an important member of the community. If he had more ambition, he would probably have enough support to become the leader of the small community. After the recent problems the village has had to face with Tanar'ri attacks, he wasone of the advocates of bringing the outlying farms into the village proper for grater security. Sadly, these arrangements came too late as one evening in mid-Alturiak, his farm was attacked and his wife and three children were brutally murdered. He only survived because he was out in one of his fields at the time.
This tragedy has changed this once quiet, affable man. Now he is still quiet, but there is now an air of menace which hangs about him. He has grown darker since the attack and many of his old friends are seriously concerned for his mental stability.
