A group from Fallow's Cross arrived to help, but by that time, the raiders had departed. They helped rebuild and discovered that the Tallyhoe in The Rock was in fact a foul Tanar'ri shapeshifter, like a Ghoul, called a Maurezhi. They killed it and Tanya became the owner of the Rock.
Captain Tillian's nephew, Stee, now a teenager, had taken up magecraft under the guidance of Galiron, and took on the role as the village's mage. Plans were set about to move all the outlying farmsteads to the village and build a palisade around the core buildings.
For Fallow's Cross, the the garrison presence was strengthened, and a teleport platform was built on the side of the tower, until a permanent gateway could be installed. This allowed an easier rotation of personnel as the normal trip was in the order of three weeks, and came dangerously close to Hellgate Keep.
A gateway was installed about 3 months later, by Lancier Arballister who had done the work on the original gate between Stanzfeld Mansion and Fallow's Cross. This allowed virtually instantaneous travel to New Haven.
Later in the year another Tanar'ri lead attack destroyed much of the harvest in the fields, and resulted in Stee and Julienne going missing. A Fallow's Cross party tracked the Tanar'ri group responsible and were witness to their slaughter at the hands of some strange spider-like creatures in the depths of the Fallen Lands.
There have been a few sporadic raids in the meantime, and in one of these the whole of Herken's family were slaughtered. Since that time, Herken has become more grim - an air of darkness hangs over him as he comes to terms with all he has lost.
