We have been asked to make the following announcement:  Those who 
follow the golden marvel should seek the mirror of passing to gain 
their next task.

Confirmation that Nightshade the Assassin has returned to our fair city 
has come in the form of a cryptic message we have been asked to print:  
Find the Sword's path where ooze and dust battle for dominance.

A caravan crossing the desert has been decimated by a ferocious 
two-headed dragon which survivors claim transformed into a man before 
stealing a single casket from the wagon of a powerful mage killed in 
the initial assault.  Other survivors also say that the remnant of the 
caravan was attacked by a band of Drow, but few believe this ludicrous 
story - Drow in the desert in broad daylight!

The plague of rats which has troubled the districts north of Heaven's 
Lathe has worsened over the last few days.  Eyewitnesses speak of vast 
armies of rats erupting from sewers and overrunning buildings and 
families.  Martha, the districts wise woman believes the sewers have 
become home to spirits which even the rats are afraid of.  We were 
reminded of the strange noises heard late last year under the Northern 
Market which we hasten to point out were never adequately explained.

The Great Dwarven Spitting contest has had to be postponed when clerics 
of Clangeddin were discovered with mouthfuls of gravel.  Their claim 
that they were trying out a new dwarven mouthwash has not been taken 
seriously.  Moradin clerics swear that it is a well known trick and 
makes the spittle travel further and be more controllable.  Gnomish 
investigators have been brought in to attempt to limit the liberal 
reinterpretations of the rules normally associated with the Dwarven 
religious challenges.

STOP PRESS:  Sages are arguing over the meaning of the strange apparition 
which manifested for several hours last night.  Even priests of Selune are 
puzzled.  Some claim one of the Tears of Selune fell to earth, but sages 
claim this to be an impossibility.  The whole city appears to have been 
woken, and many people are likely to be very disgruntled by this.  We shall 
endeavour to report further on this.
