There was a major street battle yesterday in the middle of the city.
Concentrated around Runimeed Market, it claimed a number of
casualties. Amongst these were Meredith Forfar, the proprietor of
the Late Call Inn, and his family. The Inn was completely destroyed
by fire as were several other adjacent buildings. Another of the
casualties appears to be Samson Umtata, the fugitive from justice
reported recently. It is believed two Guilds were involved - Parvel
and Angaril, with Parvel's forces coming off worse. Several
buildings are still burning but action is being taken to control the
spread of the fire. Rumour has it that Lassarail Goldmane was
spotted in the battle, which may implicate a group of Northerners
whom he has been seen with.

Further reports are arriving about another fight located around
Parsifal Street, off Trade Way. Members of Guild Parvel have been
identified and it is said that it may be an internal power struggle
within the Guild.

Weather warnings are being prepared as the sandstorm approaches the
city from the north. Concern is being expressed over the city's
readiness for another serious sandstorm after the destruction of last
year.

Orc Spit has seen its worst civic disturbances for several years as
the riot of two days ago flared up again last night. The Calimport
Army is believed to be preparing to go in to quell the unrest. Many
fear it will result in a bloodbath as it is well known that the army
does not care for Orcs and certain elements may use it as an
opportunity to exterminate the Orc population of Calimport.

The Eastern Caravan Route is operating again and the first grain
wagons arrived late last night to replenish the city granaries
dwindling stocks. Drudaches were concerned about the prospect of
rationing since the problems highlighted two years ago in the last
period of food rationing have not yet been resolved.

The funeral of the High Priestess of Correllon Larethian took place
yesterday, and her body is on its way to her homeland, the Forest of
Shilmista in the north. An unexpected guest of honour was a very
frail and ancient looking elf woman, the oldest seen by anyone in
recorded memory. Rumours abound that this is the priestess of a Drow
goddess who may have been the cause of the assassination.

1,250,000 Bicenta is the most recent bid for the list of Harper
agents. Once again, Purl establishments have been raided, but we
repeat the list is VERY securely protected and it is not even on this
plane of existence. The latest bid comes from interests in the far
North and apparently has the Harpers worried. Maybe they'll dig
deeper into their pockets in that case!

The Well Diggers Guild has shut down two wells in the NW of the city,
claiming pollution from the fire in the dump has fouled the water.
The Guild's Dwarf miners are investigating the problems with the
water supply in that district of the city.
