CLERICAL MURDERS
In the past few days, no less than eight clerics have been murdered in 
Calimport.  We reported yesterday the deaths of the High Priest of 
Garl Glittergold, the High Priest of Corellon Larethian and Demarche 
Urgallion of Mask.  Today we can report the murders of Sensate 
Carrolana, priestess of Sharess, Alif Al'Taquiran priest of Bhaleros, 
Lord Yoularis Septanuaril, priest of Tymora, Harvan Del'Agallaris, 
High Priest of Mystra and Thorin Ironfoot, High Priest of Moradin in 
Dwarf Forge.  It is clear that all have been murdered and although the 
circumstances of each are dissimilar, one wonders whether it is all 
coincidence.

The White Dragon strikes again!  A caravan train which left the city 
yesterday was destroyed last night.  Only one befuddled survivor 
managed to return to the city to bring the news.  His testimony, 
however, is frankly ludicrous.  He claims the dragon has an army of 
giant ants which it used to attack the caravan.  When interrogated 
closely about the dragon, his answers grew vague.  Of particular 
interest to investigators is of course, the dragon's breath.  Doubt 
has been expressed that it is truly a WHITE dragon, so the nature of 
the creatures abilities is important.  The survivor only escaped by 
hiding in a gully and so did not witness the dragon's attack, but did 
hear its deafening roar.

The eleven community has appointed the notable Gold elf Lassarail 
Goldmane to investigate the curious appearances of the ghostly elf 
apparition seen recently around Heaven's Lathe.  Older readers may 
remember him as being a notable celebrity three decades ago in the 
infamous Sapphire Heart incident.  He has promised to keep us informed 
as to the results of his investigations.  It appears he was rather 
busy when last a resident of Calimport as it has been revealed that he 
has a daughter who is still in the city.

Harbour patrols have been having problems from attacks beneath the 
waters.  They believe it is an expanding colony of Scrags near the 
Ship's Graveyard, who are venturing further west.  Others, though, 
have reported attacks by trident wielding fish-men.

Another fire has broken out in the municipal dump north east of Dwarf 
Forge.  The prevailing winds are carrying the smoke NE away from the 
rest of the city if the winds changes, Dwarven Alchemists warn that 
the smoke and fumes may be toxic.

The Gnome Mines are in uproar since the murder of their High Priest.  
Non-Gnomes are decidedly unwelcome, and even non-native Gnomes have 
been shut out.  It seems the insularity and paranoia of our large-
nosed brethren has surfaced again.  Betting has commence on how long 
they will keep themselves isolated this time!

The monthly Loviatar orgy will begin today.  Protest from other 
temples have been dismissed and the jaded tastes of Calimport will 
once again see a human sacrifice to the Goddess of Pain.  Guards have 
been recruited in case anyone tries to interrupt the ceremonies.
