The next arrival was a surprise for Corrie - her younger brother Morcleb. He arrived just when they had made an astounding discovery in the remaining notes of Mulmar. For some time, they had noticed the summoning circle in the basement behaving oddly. The notes indicated that the four coloured stones in conjunction with the bracelet the notes called The Amulet, allowed the circle to be used to travel to various locations depending upon how the stones were arranged at the points of the pentagram. Their first lucky discovery was that the green stone at the cardinal point took them to Waterdeep - in particular to Lemon Tree Alley in Waterdeep's Castle Ward.
The first weeks of 1365 DR saw them try another setting on the summoning circle. This took them to the Quoya Desert, almost halfway round the world. There near an oasis, they encountered a cleric/mage of Mystra who had become lost. This was Malleus and his familiar, a red setter called Fang. Together, they defeated a demi-lich in the city of Solon in Semphar. It was in the desert that Marie made another discovery - the Amulet wouldn't work. This worried them greatly. Fortunately, once they had defeated the lich, the Amulet transported them back, bringing Malleus with them. It appeared, then, that there was an element of self-will to the Amulet and would only work when it wanted to. This has been borne out many times since.
By the time they returned to Fallow's Cross, they found two new recruits, Chartrise Hillsbottom, a Halfling Priestess of Mask(!) and Sable, a vain elven Warrior Mage, with his ferret familiar Mordred. More additions arrived in the next few months, including Djerrold, a fighter with a lower IQ than Sable's ferret, Relg Stoneshield, an abusive Dwarven Priest of Clangeddin, Dathrel Diorde, a stern Elven Undead Slayer, and Jarrol an Elven Swashbuckler whose vanity outstripped even that of Sable! The group was growing and adopted the name of The Fallow's Cross Adventurers.
