As they approached the cavern mouth, the insect men attacked again and the sound of the dragon moving could be heard. Crompton cast a phantasmal killer spell, sending the phantasm into the cavern where the white dragon would see the creature it most feared. The roars and crashing showed a battle was taking place. A sudden flash of light was the first clue that something was not quite right. After a few minutes, things quietened down and the party cautiously advance into the dragon's lair. After several twists and turns , they found themselves in a large cave with part of its ceiling collapsed and a huge amount of dust in the air. Crouching in the middle was a large blue dragon, battered and bruised from the rocks its lightning breath had brought down from the ceiling. As it saw them, it suddenly changed colour to white, but they could see this was an illusion and immediately attacked. They were, however, protected from the white dragon's icy breath, not from a blue dragon's electrical! Fortunately, the dragon was hurt from the rock fall and they were able to overwhelm and kill it before it could rally an adequate defence. The Blue dragon's treasure consisted of the loot from several caravans, but was not a great amount as the dragon had only been in the area for a few weeks.
As soon as everyone was healed as well as they could, the party began the journey back to Calimport, travelling as quickly as possible. They arrived back in the city as dusk fell and Chartrise reported straight away to the Haldeman representative she had dealt with before, explaining what had happened. The others returned to The Last Call Inn, where Julienne awaited them with that day's copy of GOLEMIC SCRIBES. From that, they discovered that the Loviatar ceremony took place yesterday, and Samson discovered that his father and tribe were being slandered by the Church Knights of Torm.
